Welcome Back Rollingcoders From A Long COVID Break!

We are kicking off with Agile Methodology, Human Centered Design, and how to communicate ideas.

Here is a recap from Nat's notes:

  • 64% of requested features are not used.

  • Simplicity is key.

  • Agile: Software development methodology… Change is constant and expected.

    • Competitors demand for innovation.

    • People want different things, new demands.

    • Different requirements.

  • Start in increments

    • Iteration 1… iteration 2… build more.

  • Never perfect.

  • Features: What the user wants.

  • Business Visions to Feature Deck:

    • Vision…

    • Features…

    • Select what is needed Minimal Marketable Product (MMP)

      • What do we need to build so that people would buy it

    • Review and Prioritize Features

      • What will we do first?

      • Color, size, which to prioritize.

    • Create Road Maps

      • Step one… 2… 3…

    • Create Feature Deck

      • Presentation to share with everyone's idea transfers clearly.

  • Feature Deck

    • Business Value

    • Feature/System information

    • Process Flows

    • Mock ups

    • Narrative (what does this do…)

  • Personas

    • Helps to create products… students, teachers, parents, users…

How to communicate ideas:

  1. Focus on one major idea.

  2. Give people a reason to care… curiosity… bridge the knowledge gap.

  3. Build your idea with familiar concepts.

  4. Make your idea worth sharing… Who does this benefit.

Transfer ideas into the listener's mind. Exact pattern does to everyone else’s mind
